There are MANY wonderful opportunities at the Choice Food Pantry!
Pantry Stockers: Stock the Merciful HELP Center Choice Food Pantry in the afternoons on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Shoppers: Helps MHC guests make selections of various food items, toiletries, and paper products throughout the pantry. Choice Food Pantry training is required, please click here to sign up. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0e4aada82fa31-next2
Runners: Take client requests, prepare carts and gather frozen and fresh foods as requested by the guests. Again, we require training before performing this volunteer task.
Teen Helpers: Help load grocery orders into a guest's vehicle, help guests make bread and/or produce selections, clean and/or discarding trash. You may volunteer once a year or once a week by clicking the sign-up genius below and showing up for the shift you selected.
Interpreter: We serve people of all nationalities and 2nd and 3rd languages skills are very welcome! Training is necessary for an individual to know our parameters and guidelines.
Stockers: Volunteers serve to stock the shelves between openings of the choice food pantry.
Green Bag Sunday Volunteers: Either man a door to hand out bags to willing donators, or come and organize donations as they come in twice per year.
Food Pick-up Volunteers: We rescue from local stores, schools, farms, restaurants and pick up from shops and stores that have taken donations for us! We use every bit of what is rescued to feed our neighbors in our community!
Team Leader during Choice Food Pantry Operation: This special individual keeps things running smoothly in the warehouse as people shop with guests and runners and teens gather meats and load cars. They are essential to the operation of the food pantry.
Inventory Team Leader: This leader leads energetic volunteers as they stock the pantry from our storage areas onto the shelves. This is a great exercise for people that like to do a little physical work.
Receptionist: These special people check families in on the computer, update their information, make visits and take requests for other things families might need help with. This requires some training, and we ask that people have worked in the pantry for several months before training in this position. It is important to have a working knowledge of the pantry to perform this role.
